Moleskine is setting sail on the journey of a lifetime as part of the epic round-the-world Vendée Globe race. Sailing non-stop, solo and unassisted, skipper Denis Van Weynbergh is racing with Moleskine under the flag of the D’Ieteren Group, a family of businesses of which we are a proud member. Competitors set off from Les Sables d’Olonne in France on November 10th, 2024.
As a brand founded on the belief that travel has a special power to spark ideas and creativity, Moleskine is thrilled to accompany Denis on this most incredible and inspiring of journeys. This demanding race requires not only courage, skill and a sense of adventure, but also a commitment to innovation, creativity and excellence from the team behind the endeavor. These are the values at the heart of the project, all underpinned by a desire to create a positive impact both socially and environmentally.
In celebration of this seafaring adventure, we have created a dedicated collection of bags and notebooks. The collection features 100 unique upcycled shopperpacks made from sails used by Denis in training, each one handmade in Italy by REDO Upcycling, a company that trains and employs workers facing social barriers. These special, one-of-a-kind bags are joined by a limited-edition notebook exclusively for D’Ieteren with a depiction of the vessel on the outside and the specially designed mana from the boat’s bow on the inner pages.
Follow Denis’s progress and pick up one of the special edition shopperpacks, available for a limited time at the following Moleskine stores in Paris:
