Moleskine and Moleskine Foundation present DETOUR, the travelling exhibition of artists’ notebooks, at the Pinacoteca Ambrosiana and Alcova during Milan Design Week: 15th - 21st April 2024.
The exhibition at the Pinacoteca Ambrosiana is open until 11th June.
More than a hundred unique works by artists from all over the world will be on show in Milan, helping to raise awareness of creativity as a tool for social change. Among the selected artists: Giorgia Lupi, Antonio Marras, Pascale Marthine Tayou and Joana Vasconcelos.
The choice of the Pinacoteca Ambrosiana to host this exhibition is no coincidence: a historic Milanese location, a treasure trove of art and culture, it offers a perfect backdrop for exploring the diversity of creative thought in depth. By ideally relating it to the most precious works in the Pinacoteca: Leonardo da Vinci's codices and Raphael's cartoons, exceptional testimonies to the power of hand-drawn ideas, whether drawings or writings.
"Detour is a celebration of diversity and human creativity," says Daniela Riccardi, CEO of Moleskine. "Each notebook tells a unique story, reflecting the background and vision of the artist who created it. We are thrilled to bring this extraordinary exhibition to Milan, a city that perfectly embodies the spirit of innovation and creativity."
Created in 2006, Detour, is much more than a simple art exhibition: it is an experience, which transports the visitor into the heart of the creative process, from the mind of the artist to the page of the notebook.
