Milan Design Week is always an opportunity to enjoy creativity on display in a wide variety of fields. Moleskine celebrates what lies at the heart of so much creativity: the power of pen and paper to help concentration, linear thinking, ideation. It is science that says so, and certainly our notebooks, which have always been used by genius minds, bear witness to this.
Boundless creativity
The dynamic exploration of creative expression, the boundless energy behind sketches, drawings, calligraphy and visual storytelling are revealed in our space through analogue, digital and three-dimensional means. And the main theme, the potential inherent in using paper to unleash one's genius, is visually summed up by a large origami inspired sculpture in the shape of a brain. The sculpture is made by Antonio Pignatelli out of Moleskine paper.
Experiential Workshops
An intensive program of immersive activities reveals the transformative power of handwriting and drawing as tools to enhance conscious thinking and creation.
Guided by master artists and calligraphers, each workshop becomes a journey of discovery, in which participants explore different writing techniques, the art of lettering and papermaking. Day after day, these collective experiences are woven into a rich tapestry of shared storytelling and creative expression.
Moleskine partners with Sandro Tiberi, paper master, and Comieco to bring paper recycling demonstrations to the premises. The resulting recycled paper is used at every step of the creative workshops as a valuable resource and space for self-expression.
Genius Unleashed
A selection of unique works of art made on a Moleskine notebook, part of the Moleskine Foundation Collection, will be on display. These notebooks bridge creative moments through time, languages and cultures, by carrying a valuable message of self-expression and critical thinking.
Bespoke experiences
Exclusively for Milan Design Week, the pop-up store showcases a coveted limited edition: a thoughtfully crafted kit that embodies the essence of Unleash Your Genius. Each kit pairs a specially designed notebook with a precision pen, that can be personalized on the spot.
Containers of ideas
Moleskine showcases unique pieces of furniture designed in collaboration with Quadra, a long term partner that enables every event through curated production of the space designs. Modular and adjustable, each piece is designed with the notebook in mind. With every added notebook the piece changes shape and adjusts height, making space for another memory compendium.
